I'm going to try and post more each week in an effort to show some past sketches I've grown to enjoy today. To kick it all off, this is a sketch I made back in the fall of 2017 in Rome's Orto Botanico Gardens. This place is ripe for anyone wishing to be challenged in many drawing practices. the gardens, located in the Trastevere neighborhood, include subtropical plants, old deciduous trees, and a greenhouse full of cactus and succulents which are perfect for drawing repeating patterns and fractals. On the top of a hill lies a small Japanese garden with a pond, red maple trees, bamboo, and small thin leaved shrubs bursting wildly from rocky banks. Here is a view of the pond showcasing the wonderful variety of momentum within the plants.
